Financial Analyst
Position description
The Financial Analyst is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting financial data to support business decision-making. This role involves preparing financial reports, forecasting trends, evaluating budgets, and identifying areas for cost control and growth.
Responsibilities:

Analyze Project Budgets

Review and evaluate budgets for construction projects to ensure cost efficiency and profitability.

Track Project Costs

Monitor actual project expenses vs. budgeted amounts and identify cost overruns or savings.

Forecast Cash Flow

Prepare monthly and quarterly cash flow forecasts based on project schedules and payment timelines.

Prepare Financial Reports

Create reports on financial performance, job costing, profitability, and budget variance.

Support Bidding and Estimating

Assist with bid pricing by analyzing historical data, cost trends, and margin requirements.

Monitor Financial KPIs

Track key performance indicators like gross margin, overhead rate, and return on investment (ROI).

Assist with Financial Planning

Support long-term financial planning and scenario modeling for company growth and capital projects.

Review Contracts and Invoices

Analyze subcontractor agreements and large vendor contracts to ensure financial accuracy and risk management.

Work with Project Managers

Collaborate with PMs to understand job progress, payment applications, and cost-to-complete estimates.

Maintain Compliance

Ensure financial practices comply with internal policies and industry regulations, including GAAP.

Use Financial Software

Work with construction accounting tools (like Sage 300, Viewpoint, or QuickBooks) and Excel to manage and analyze data.
